Here is a story and I will put myself in it and you tell me if you think it’s true or not. To preserve names, I will use Mary, Joseph and Joseph JR as the people who will be in this “story” with me. Ok, here goes:
Back in June, I was to fly with Mary to help her out with a job she had to do. This work took her out of state and her boyfriend, Joseph, couldn’t go with her. Due to the nature of her job, she couldn’t be left alone, so I was asked to go with her. I accepted.
Here it is the day we are suppose to leave and Mary, Joseph, Jr and I were out eating a late lunch early dinner at a restaurant. We didn’t have to be at the airport until 6 p.m. and it was only 3 p.m. at this time. So, we ordered, ate, laughed, joked and reminisced. It was about 4:30 p.m. when we decided to drive the one hour to the airport.
Driving on the freeway, we ran into bumper to bumper cars, just stopped, or actually-barely moving. So, Joseph put on his four ways and SPED up the freeway on the far right hand side–the one for emergency stops! I swear it was like 90 mph! I closed my eyes and started praying!
Then we moved back into the “slow” lane as there was an accident up ahead. it’s closer to 5:15 p.m. right now and he decides to go to the far left, the “fast” lane. ONLY A CAR WAS ON FIRE! But did that deter Joseph? OH HELL NO IT DIDN’T!!!!! He sped past that burning car, to me it felt like slow motion as I felt the flames through his car. I started texting my husband and I said that Joseph was going to kill me, I’m going to die! My husband wrote back and said that I was insured. (Sarcastic asinine!)
Then Joseph exited off of the freeway to take back roads. He was driving like a mad man, I swear! 80-90-100 MPH! He then slowed for a red light, looked both ways and sped off again!
Did I mention that I was praying? OH I was SCARED! Poor little JR was in his booster seat, ASLEEP!
Needless to say, we made it to the airport with 10 minutes to spare. Good, right? WRONG! we still had to sign in, go through security-which was a BITCH- and then run like hell to the plane gates as it was ready to take off!
I let Mary run as I’m older than her and told her she would have a better chance of getting there before me. She did. I was so out of breath, I felt like the wind was taken right out of my sails and I felt like I had cotton in my mouth. I am sooo out of shape! lol. They waited for me to get there and we found seats and took off for another state.
Now, how likely is this story? Do you think it’s true or not? I’d really like to know what your thoughts are, won’t you share them with me?
